Wala na ako sa cache nung original post, pero I'll post it again here. We need to make the procedures as professional as possible (for future events) but still fun. ^^

Magic: The Gathering Mini-Tourney

When: 07-22-2006 (a mini-event with the 12th PPF Party)

Format:
Limited; Booster Draft (RGD)
3 Swiss Rounds, Top 4 in a Knockout tourney.

Requirements to Join

1 Ravnica: City of the Guilds Booster Pack
1 Guildpact Booster Pack
1 Dissension Booster Pack
Basic Land Pool (5-10 of each type recommended)

Prize pool (still increasing):
1 Dissension Booster Pack
1 Sky Swallower (LOL)
1 Graven Dominator

Rules:

Each participant will bring 1 Ravnica: City of the Guilds booster, 1 Guildpact booster, 1 Dissension booster, and a basic land pool (preferrably 5-10 of each basic land). These booster packs would be added to our booster pack pool before the drafting starts. Once everyone is in place, each one will be given a random pack to begin with (first would be Ravnica, then Guildpact, and lastly Dissension).

A 90-second time limit will be given to each participant for each pack. Conversation among participants is unallowed during drafting. Each

After drafting finishes, each player has 30 minutes to build his or her deck. This includes sleeving of cards and submitting the decklist. A player may not include cards he didn't draft except for Basic Lands. When everyone is finished, the rounds start.

Booster Draft Procedures

1. Each player is given a first pack, and opens it.
2. Each player chooses a card to keep. Afterwards, each one passes the remaining to his left.
3. Each player picks another card and passes the remaining to his left. This process repeats until there's nothing left to pass.
4. Each player is given a new pack.
5. Repeat steps 2-3 but this time, passing goes to the right.
6. Each player opens the last pack.
7. Repeat steps 2-3 and this time, passing goes back to the left.
8. At the end of the draft, each player has 45 cards in his pool exclusive of basic lands. Each player constructs a deck with a minimum of 40 cards including basic lands.

ganito po ba talaga ang mga tourney? wala po bang tourney na kanya kanyang deck ang gamit? sorry po ah newbie ako sa magic eh >.<

Nope, there 2 general type of tournaments: Limited and Constructed

Limited format yung asa taas. Constructed is where you bring your own decks.

Usually, Limited is attended by a lot of players because each player is on equal levels with other players since random ang cards na mabibigay sa inyo.

The decks is Constructed is usually defined by the local metagame, and kung ano ang kaya ng bulsa mo. ^^
