The PPF DMGF Tournament 2012

The Pinoy Percussion Freaks DrumMania & GuitarFreaks Tournament 2012
To celebrate the Pinoy Percussion Freaks? 10th Anniversary, we at Pinoy Percussion Freaks are organizing our first DrumMania and GuitarFreaks tournament ? organized by DM and GF players, for DM and GF players.
The PPF DM&GF Tournament 2012 is open to all players and fans of Konami?s popular GuitarFreaks and DrumMania series of BEMANI music simulation games. Music gamers of all skill levels are encouraged to join!
How to sign-up for the Tournament:
1. Join the PPF DM&GF Tournament 2012 Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ppftourney2012), and download the registration form (http://www.pinoypercussionfreaks.com/ppfregform.zip). Fill up the form and send it to pinoypercussionfreaks@gmail.com.
2. Prepare your registration fee of PHP50.00, to be paid on the day you will play for the qualifiers, plus any valid photo ID. Your registration fee entitles you to one (1) free game.
3. While we also accept walk-in registrants, we strongly encourage interested parties to visit the Facebook page and register online.
4. Tournament registration will only be until October 20, 2012.
Our PPF GF&DM Tournament 2012 organizers will accept registrants on a first-come-first serve basis. We will assign and put up attendance listings on the Tournament Facebook page according to the order of registration. You must appear on the day you are assigned to qualify/play ON TIME. Please check the Facebook pages regularly for Tournament updates and schedules.
The Pinoy Percussion Freaks community promotes proper decorum and behavior in gaming. As such, PPF Administrators, Moderators, and Tournament organizers have the sole discretion to conduct routine inquiries and to reject or disqualify players based on past or present circumstances or due to disruptive behavior.

? November 3, 1-4PM, TimeZone Promenade, Greenhills Shopping Center, Ortigas Ave., San Juan
Semi-Finals and the Grand Final:
? November 10, Time and Venue TBA
Prizes: To be announced
Tournament Guidelines:
1. Players are strongly encouraged to be at the venue at least thirty (30) minutes before the Tournament proper begins. Players will play on a first-come first-serve basis. Please remember that the Tournament Marshals have the sole discretion to accommodate players if they come late.
2. On the tournament day itself, participants are required to show proper identification (any valid photo ID such as school ID, driver?s license, or any other government IDs) and sign on the attendance sheet to be provided.
3. Players are encouraged to prepare and pay the exact registration fee of PHP50.00 to avoid delay.
4. Players have the option to use their own drumsticks or the default sticks attached to the machine, whichever they may prefer. Marshals will be ready with a spare set of sticks in the event that players lose grip of or drop their sticks while playing. Absolutely no second takes.
5. All tournament stages will require participants to play one (1) set of three (3) music tracks, in order of increasing difficulty, all in EXTREME Difficulty setting; for GuitarFreaks, no Bass or Open Pick modes. Scoring will be based on the Skill Points (SP) garnered for each track. For each set, Marshals will only get the total of the Skill Points for the 2nd and the 3rd track, while the 1st track will serve as an optional warm-up track. Players have to inform the Marshals if they choose not to use this warm-up track.
6. All participants are required to indicate (upon registration) their choice of game modifiers (such as scroll speed, combo placement, Dark/Shutter modes, etc.) to be used throughout the tournament. While the use of Auto modifiers is permitted, take note that these particular modifiers reduce Skill Points by a huge margin. Same goes for advanced modifiers such as Judgment and Hazard/Risky modes. Marshals will be the ones to set the game with the specified modifiers on behalf of the players prior to their turn to play.
7. After each track, players must avoid bypassing the results screen (by pressing the start button on GuitarFreaks/Drummania or hitting the cymbal) to give Marshals enough time to tabulate the results. At the end of each set, Marshals will take a picture of the player holding a whiteboard with his/her results for proper documentation.
8. Consideration of other players waiting their turn is paramount. Besides the standard precautions for playing GuitarFreaks and DrumMania, hitting the pads or kicking the pedal too hard is strongly discouraged. While PPF Tournament organizers and Marshals are doing their best to ensure that participants are able to play on machines in their best possible condition, these machines are for public use and as such, maintenance and machine condition are beyond their control. In the event of general machine malfunction before or during the actual tournament proper, the event may have to be relocated at the same date, subject to the discretion of the Tournament organizers/Marshals.
The Pinoy Percussion Freaks DrumMania & GuitarFreaks Tournament 2012 Tracklist
We will use over 50 of the most popular GuitarFreaks & DrumMania songs/music tracks to decide who will be the 1st ever PPF DM&GF Champion! All interested participants have from today until the final day of the tournament to familiarize themselves with the following songs/music tracks. The 3-track set for each stage of the tournament will be picked randomly before each tournament stage starts. Once a song/track gets picked, it will be eliminated from the list for the succeeding stage. Good luck!
