Final Discussion: PPF Outing 2011: LVP or CoS?

Attention! Please refer to this portion of the thread if you want to be included in our PPF Outing 2011 list! http://www.pinoypercussionfreaks.com/vi ... 905#139905

May 13-15, 2011.

[citation needed sa budget sa pamasahe pag commute, please standby for more infoooooooooo]

Place

First resort: Monte vista Hotsprings

Nakakuha kami private pool package rate for 24 persons na
nagkakahalaga ng P35,600, na good for 3-days and 2-nights na. Kasama na lahat-lahat, cottages, electricity, resthouses, pools, etc. So ang lumalabas..

Monte Vista Hotsprings budget per head = P1,780

Second resort: Splash Mountain

Air-conditioned, 12-single beds, common toilet & bath, television and lobby area.

So kung 24 tayo..

Splash Mountain Resort budget per head = P1,083

Last resort: La Vista Pansol <-- Pun (not) intended

Private pool rates!

Family Rest House for 10 pax, 4m x 8m private pool, own shower, aircon, videoke machine (P5 per song daw). P4,500 a day. So kung 24 tayo, P4,500 x 2 (and I think hindi naman matutulog ng sabay-sabay), plus required Entrance fee sa Wet 'n Wild, which is P170 for adult for the whole stay. Sumatotal:

P18,000 / 24 = P750 + P170 = P920/head

Oh, nalimutan ko. May free WiFi daw sa lobby.

Check niyo na lang yung pics for justice.

La Vista Pansol budget per head = P920

Wet 'n Wild:

P70/day naman.

I'd prefer anything na may sarili tayong bahay. Mas pwedeng mang gulo. Eheh.

Question lang, ilang cottage ang kasama sa private pool package for 24, dun sa first resort?

If you're referring to the Montevista package, if I remember correctly, their Platinum membership avails you of a 2N stay in a room for 12 plus a private pool, including free entrance/use of facilities for the first 4 guests and breakfast, all for a 12800 fee. Since me peak rates sila starting today, the Platinum membership goes up to 17800. The option is to avail of two Platinums to accommodate 24, so 35600. Yun lang, hindi sya sa Montevista Resort, kungdi sa Makiling Highlands (also owned by Montevista), around 2km away. This means walang access sa MV facilities like the giant waterslides (or the basketball pool) and we only have regular pools to use.

Right now we are still looking into other options, including one of Splash Mountain's sister resorts, City of Springs. Natural hotspring pools sya at the shores of Laguna Lake, a bit further along the way sa Los Banos. So far, their online info is very, very attractive (you can say in the Kuhala budget range) so we are planning to check their Manila office tomorrow para mag-inquire. Unfortunately, di namin sya napuntahan during our scouting trip so medyo limited to their website info ang alam natin. We're also going to check out Crystal Springs Waterworld (na nalimutan din namin daanan during the trip, sorry). I've read a few good reviews about the place so I guess we can also look into this option as well.

As for the Bolinao option, we're still waiting for Kuya Ricko's update. Right now, we only got information on fare schedules from Victory Liner. They have direct services from Cubao/Pasay to Bolinao daily at 405 pesos per trip. Aircon buses po yan with free WiFi so getting there pa lang, that's around 850-900 pesos if we're planning to commute. As for the Calamba option, Starmall FX Services (the one we take to Kuhala Bay) also have services to Calamba and other areas in Laguna. We'll also get info on that this week.

Stay tuned for further updates kids :->

On a side note Tim, kumusta naman ang stay nyo sa Splash Mountain? Recommendable ba sya?

@Miff

Tama si Paul. Daming tao. Aside from people who would board in the rooms, there were also people coming just for the pools and slides. Medyo maraming tao.

We also had a bad experience there kasi may nanakawan ng laptop.

Actually, yan ang napansin namin sa Splash Mountain nung binisita namin eh, dami masyado guests, even on a weekday. Since ang primary objective natin ay privacy, we're not really looking into Splash Mountain as a viable venue right now, and with that feedback, medyo mas naging alangan na tayu sa lugar na yan.

Edd: If you're interested in CoS, punta ka lang sa website nila:

Kung papipiliin ako, baka yung LVP o itong City of Springs ang magiging outing natin for this year. Parehas sila ng budget.

^yun naman pala eh... ayus yan habs dahil nakapunta na kami dyan sa la vista pansol along with my friends at dun sa dalawang resorts na nabanggit medyo kinabahan ako dahil sabi ni kuya tim eh nanakawan daw ng lappy...

So far boto ako sa LVP, swak sa budget plus maraming pool options (AT WATER SLIDE!)

Pero I'm waiting for the City of Springs update, baka mas ok doon.

Pansol sounds promising... Pero I'll wait for further developments...

BTW, nakapunta na rin kami ng family ko sa Splash Mountain a few times, same comments, madami tao, at feeling ko hindi enjoy ang stay natin dun for some reason na hindi ko maipaliwanag...
